I recently visited the Canon Eco Technology Park in Ibaraki Prefecture with my class to learn about their recycling processes. I was surprised to see human-like robots assisting in recycling, primarily toner cartridges from laser printers.

They use a technology called “Closed Loop Recycling,” which spins and sorts the cartridges to create new ones from recycled materials. I also learned about the 3R slogan: Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.

感想・気づいたこと・考えたこと

I believe Canon is making the world a much better place by reducing waste, as we no longer need to throw toner cartridges into the bin. This significantly helps decrease garbage. Additionally, I think we could enhance the recycling slogan by adding another “R” for “Rethink.” This emphasises the importance of considering our actions before we take them. I truly believe that everyone’s efforts can contribute to positive change in the world.
